Below are some examples of watches that I have personally serviced on my watch bench
OMEGA SEAMASTER CAL 1040
Above is the iconic Omega Seamaster Ref 176.007

It houses the Omega cal 1040 which is the Lemania based 1340

It is a 12 hour chronograph movement with an additional 24hr GMT hand.

The minute hand and chronograph minute hand are centralised thus the minute chrono hand crawls along with the minute hand rather than clicking over at 60 seconds.

A true marvel of a movement but can also be problematic.

This watch had some minor water damage from the crown been left open. Rust had built up on the inside of the keyless works and luckily this is where it ended.
I soaked the rusted parts in benzine overnight before manually cleaning them.

The whole watch movement parts were then professionally cleaned in the Elma.

The original rusted parts did have some staining to them but this was just cosmetic and did not effect the functionality or the performance.

The watch was rebuilt, oiled and regulated.

I only use quality Swiss oils from Moebius such as 9010, 1300 & 9504.

ENICAR SHERPA GRAPH MKIV Valjoux 72

The Valjoux 72 In my opinion it is the best chronograph movement out there that has stood the test of time. Very reliable and a solid work horse.

This watch was fully stripped down and deep cleaned followed by a rebuild, new mainspring and oiled. The chrono was checked and it runs spot on.

The case was ultrasonic cleaned and a light buffing to the case was applied.

I only use quality Swiss oils from Moebius such as 9010, 1300 & 9504.

Desotos Valjoux 72
Above is the legendary Valjoux 72. Used in many chronographs over the years from Enicar to Rolex.

In my opinion it is the best chronograph movement out there that has stood the test of time. Very reliable and a solid work horse.

This is a Desotos Valjoux 72 which some refer to as the poor mans Sherpa Graph due to its similar characteristics to the Sherpa Graph line. I originally purchased this watch in Cape Town South Africa a few years ago and never serviced it until recently.

The watch was in good condition with very little wear although very dry.
It was fully stripped down and any faults identified.

I purchased this watch as a non runner from a lovely lady in Den Haag. It belonged to her husband. They suspected that the main spring was broken and they were correct.
The watch was stripped down, cleaned and rebuilt with a new mainspring and crystal.

I gave the dial a light clean to remove any dirt and gave the case a light buffing with a scotch pad and Bergeon 2290 polishing stick.

I also replaced the generic bracelet with a nice vintage Beads of Rice bracelet.
